That a similar equipment for 2,500 lines be installed in a new exchange building at Kowloon. (c) That dehumdifying plant be provided at both of

these exchanges.

That the Magneto Exchange at the Peak be continued

for two years after the Kowloon Exchange has been

opened and that it be then converted to Automatic

the conversion to take place earlier in the event

of the development warrenting this course.

That small Magneto Exchanges be installed as soon

as practicable in the neighbourhood of Quarry Bay

(Shaukiwan) and at Taipo.

(f) That the proposals now under consideration for

the establishment of small Exchanges at Kowloon

Tong and Kowloon City be proceeded with as soon

as practicable.

(g) That any exchanges that may be required in the

future at the small outlying towns on the Island

or in the New Territories be of Magneto type.

Estimated cost of proposals.

The estimated expenditure, exclusive of buildings,

and of the distribution network, which the foregoing proposals

will involve is indicated in statement marked "C".

(45).

Conclusion.

If it should be decided to proceed with the foregoing Automatic proposals it would be advisable for Mr. Bennett to proceed to England in order to furnish tenderers with first hand information on the many pointe which invariably

crop up in connection with schemes of this nature.
